July weather in Decorah was hot and dry

June was a wet month in Decorah, with over 10 inches of total precipitation, but July did not follow suit.

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says the month ended with 2.14 inches of rain--1.9 inches less than the average precipitation figure of July (4.04 inches).  Rain fell during just six days in July. 

Decorah had 10.19 inches of rain in June, 4.58 inches of rain in May, 2.14 inches of rain in April and 2.72 inches of rain in March, so even with July's below normal precipitation, 22 inches of rain has fallen in the last five months.

Bernatz says July temperatures in Decorah were 3.3 degrees above average.  Temperatures ranged from 53 degrees on July 23rd to 93 degrees on July 9th.
