On Friday morning, 68-year-old James Six of Ainsworth was traveling north bound in a 2017 Semi Tractor Trailer on Highway 52 and was in the turning lane attempting to go around a passenger car that was also north bound and slowing to turn left. The passenger car then abruptly attempted to make a right turn onto 350th Street. Six avoided the collision with the passenger car but ended up rolling into the north ditch on 350th Street.
Six was transported by ambulance. Mabel Fire, Decorah Fire, Winneshiek Ambulance, Winneshiek County Emergency Management, Iowa State Patrol and Winneshiek County Engineer's Office assisted the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office with the emergency response. Several other private entities assisted with the recovery at the scene. 350th Street was closed for several hours.
The accident resulted in $240,000 in property damage.
