City's Sustainability Committee meets for the first time

Jim Martin-Schramm has been elected chair of the newly-formed City of Decorah Sustainability Committee.
 
The committee has been created in the wake of the city council's work to produce a document outlining the ways city government could operate in a more sustainable manner.
 
The committee will meet the third Wednesday of every month and will begin to work on putting into effect the recommendations the city council made which were classified as those which could be put into effect immediately.  Martin-Schramm asked fellow committee members to concentrate on those types of recommendations, noting that since the sustainability plan runs for 27 pages, "there's a lot there."
