With air conditioning and other high-demand appliances in use during hot summer days, electricity bills can be higher than normal. However, Alliant Energy is now offering a new feature that helps customers track their energy use and set up high usage notifications via voice, text or email if their use hits a certain amount of energy.
Customers can look at their previous energy use in the "My Account" heading of their account and set a level that's right for their household. When air conditioners work around-the-clock to keep up with hot and humid weather, customers may be using more energy than they realize. The notifications will allow customers to turn off or turn down appliances and save money.
