First confirmed COVID-19 death in Winneshiek County

The Winneshiek County Department of Public Health is announcing the first COVID-19 death in Winneshiek County. The individual was over the age of 80.  Because of privacy concerns, no further details will be released.

The Department of Public Health recommends that all county residents stay at home as much as possible -- especially when (even mildly) ill; avoid and reduce potential large group gatherings; continue to practice social distancing with non-household members; wear masks when outside of your household; cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow/upper arm; and wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
