The July 4th weekend is typically one of the busiest of the week on the Upper Iowa River. That's why Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies are pleasantly surprised the weekend went so well.
Sheriff Dan Marx says there were no issues with parking problems at the canoe and kayak put-ins and take-outs. That included the area around the Daley Bridge, where Sheriff Marx says there was not a single problem.
Winneshiek County Supervisors will hold a public hearing next Monday on parking restrictions near the Daley Bridge.
