Decorah Police are investigating a hit and run accident

Decorah Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Sunday morning on East Broadway.

A parked Toyota RAV4 was struck by another vehicle around 5:00 Sunday morning, but the vehicle drove off.  A neighbor witnessed the accident, but couldn't identify the driver.

Later Sunday, 17-year-old Brandon Gulrud of Decorah came to the police station to tell officers he had been the driver of the car striking the parked vehicle.

At this point, no tickets have been issued.  The accident did a total of $12,000 in damages.
