"Battle of the Badges" blood drive will be held Friday

The Red Cross "Battle of the Badges Blood Drive" will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Stone Ridge Community Church located at 1111 Montgomery Street in Decorah.

Organizers are asking that people who want to donate blood make an appointment by calling (800) 733-2767, visiting www.redcrossblood.org or calling Patricia Edde at (563) 382-5244.

Temperatures will be taken prior to entering the donation area and safe distancing will be observed. Masks must be worn at all times. After the blood is sent off to be processed, a check for covid antibodies will be done. If they are found, the donor will be notified by mail.

Blood is always needed at all times, but during the COVID-19 epidemic the need is even greater.
