Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum has begun weekly live streams about the progress of work on their Heritage Park project.
Each Thursday at noon, Vesterheim's Facebook page will have live streaming from the project. The videos will be posted later on Vesterheim's YouTube channel.
When completed, the Heritage Park project will showcase the museum's unique collection of 12 historical buildings within an accessible, landscaped park that will include a community amphitheater.
The park was designed by the award-winning Minneapolis landscape architectural firm Damon Farber. Heritage Park is part of an overall master site plan created for Vesterheim by Snohetta, the international architecture and landscape architecture firm with offices in New York City and Oslo.
The primary contractor for the project is 2nd Nature Landscaping out of Bloomington, Minnesota. Other contractors include Skyline Construction, Inc., Wicks Construction, Perry Novak Electric, and Stevenson Tree Care, all of Decorah.
This project is supported by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, and the Paul D. Pratt & Marguerite Olson Pratt Fund of InFaith Community Foundation, Kate Nelson Rattenborg, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship's Water Quality Initiative (WQI) Urban Conservation Project, and the Winneshiek County Community Foundation.
