Three new COVID-19 cases in Winneshiek County

Winneshiek County now has three active COVID-19 cases that were identified over the weekend.

Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink commented, "We still need people to be wearing their masks," washing hands, and avoiding large gatherings -- especially with 4th of July weekend coming up.

Locally, all surrounding counties also saw spikes in their numbers over the weekend. Allamakee's active case count rose from 27 on Thursday to 29 today. Chickasaw's count rose from 6 to 7. Clayton's count rose from 1 to 5. Fayette's count rose from 2 to 4. Howard's count rose from 4 to 9.

Across the state, there have been 28,699 positive cases, 17,695 recovered cases, and 707 deaths.
