Clerical error made it seem like there was one new COVID-19 case in Winneshiek County

Winneshiek County Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says the state database was incorrect when it showed one new COVID-19 case in Winneshiek County.

Says Vanden Brink, "Winneshiek County Public Health has not received notification of any new cases of COVID-19 in the county to investigate. The misidentified case is for another county.  It is a manual process to enter the cases into the data system and keystroke errors occur."

That means Winneshiek County still does not have an active COVID-19 case.  Elsewhere in NE Iowa. Allamakee County has 27 active cases, Chickasaw County has six, Clayton County has one, Fayette County has two and Howard County has four.

Across the state, there are 27,062 cumulative positive cases, 16,926 recovered cases, resulting in 9,442 active cases statewide.  There have been 694 deaths from COVID-19 in Iowa.
