If you think Decorah has been getting a lot of rain this spring--you're right!
Iowa State University's agriculture department has a network of weather reporters all across the state who keep track of temperatures and precipitation totals. Iowa State has used their reports to create a map of total precipitation from April 1st through Monday, June 22nd of this year.
ISU's weather reporter who lives two miles north of Decorah has had a total of 16.65 inches of rain in the rain gauge since April 1st. That's the second highest total in all of Iowa. Only Grundy Center has reported more rainfall--around half an inch more.
Northeast Iowa in general has been the wettest part of the state, with many communities reporting over 10 inches of rainfall since April 1st.
And, of course, June isn't over yet--so these figures still could change!
