Winneshiek County Supervisors has given its official approval to plans by the City of Decorah to redo Court Street later this year.
The plans call for replacing the old curbing on Court Street on the block where the Courthouse sits. The Court Street/West Main Street intersection also would be redone. Brick pavers would be removed but put back in the walkways, and the intersection would be improved. Another part of the project calls for ADA-compliant ramps to be installed at the intersection—a move praised by the supervisors.
The entire project is expected to begin later this year and carry a price tag of between $150,000 to $175,000, depending upon the scope of the work.
