Decorah High School Alumni Facebook page strolls down memory lane

The "Decorah High School Friends and others! Alumni and spouses" Facebook page was created by Decorah High School graduate Deb Wood McKernan as an escape from the political and current news dominating the headlines. "This is a place to get away from it all and enjoy memory lane," says McKernan.

Many of the page's posts are colorized black and white photos from Decorah's history, restored by Larry Peterson of Decorah. The photos range from high school teachers in the 1980s to the old Ben Franklin store to the 1942 Winneshiek County Fair. The purpose of each photo is to inspire conversations about fun times at school and in the community.
