Construction crews are wrapping up their work this week on repaving Ridge Road. The construction is being done so the road can handle detour traffic for Locust Road. However, City of Decorah officials are stressing that Ridge Road should not be the first choice for a detour around Locust Road—it is meant for local traffic only.
The main detour starts at the intersection of Locust Road and County Road A-26 (337th Street). Traffic will be detoured to the west to the intersection with County W-34, North Winn Road. Traffic will then head south on North Winn Road to U.S. Highway 52, then will take a slight left turn at the College Drive extension until College Drive meets up with Locust Road.
The main detour is intended for out-of-town drivers and, especially, for heavy trucks.
