Decorah mayor signs proclamation observing National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Decorah Mayor Lorraine Borowski has signed a declaration seeking to keep Decorah a safe community.

The official observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day is meant to highlight the fact that almost 90 people die from gun violence each day in the United States. Every 16 minutes a woman is killed by a gun by someone who is either a partner or someone she knows.
