50% capacity limit for businesses to be lifted Friday

Posted: Wed, Jun 10, 2020 11:48 AM

Governor Reynolds announced a new proclamation taking effect Friday that lifts the 50% capacity limit for businesses.

Even though the limit is lifted, it is expected that businesses continue to follow guidelines from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). The guidelines include maintaining 6 feet between parties, wearing cloth face coverings, washing hands often and sanitizing surfaces frequently.

The IDPH further elaborates that cloth face coverings should cover the mouth and nose and fit closely to the face. Avoid touching the outside of the mask, but if that happens, immediately wash your hands. The masks should be changed or cleaned after each use.

The proclamation also allows swimming pools, senior centers and adult day care centers to open while continuing to follow the guidelines from the IDPH.
