Tropical Depression Cristobal dumps 2.5 to 3.21 inches of rain on Winneshiek County

It was a wet day on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service Office in La Crosse says Tropical Depression Cristobal dumped up to 5.25 inches of rainfall in Northeast Iowa before heading north.  The 5.25 inch total was recorded in Oelwein.

In Winneshiek County, unofficial rainfall totals were higher, but official readings ranged from 3.21 inches near Bluffton to 2.74 inches in Decorah and 2.50 inches of rainfall four miles east of Bluffton.

The National Weather Service says, "This was only the second time on record that a tropical weather system center tracked through Iowa, and only the third time it crossed part of Wisconsin."
