Winneshiek County now does not have a single active COVID-19 patient. "That is good news," County Health Director Krista Vanden Brink told county supervisors on Monday.
Vanden Brink says now that there have also been no new COVID-19 cases locally for around one week, "We just wait and see."
She is concerned, however, about new guidelines which allow the reopening of long-term care facilities in Iowa. "We're still trying to digest this," she told the supervisors. Vanden Brink and other local health officials took part in a video conference on Friday aimed at explaining the new rules.
In the meantime, however, she told county supervisors, "No new cases—Yay!"
