Decorah Police release details of a cybercrime arrest

A 68-year-old Decorah man faces five charges of first offense Possessing a Depiction of a Minor in a Sex Act.

Decorah Police on Wednesday released details of the arrest of James Alan Schell of 604 Clearview Drive, Unit 3.  Police say they served a search warrant on Schell on April 17th, which led to an extended investigation.  On Wednesday morning, officers arrested Schell at his home on the five charges.  Schell was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.

The Decorah Police Department's investigation included help from the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office, and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.
