Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation is implementing a rent assistance program for COVID-19 related housing issues.  The new program is being conducted in collaboration with Iowa Community Action Association and the Iowa Finance Authority.

Current renters who are at risk of eviction due to a documented COVID-19 related loss of income after March 17th may be eligible for rent assistance.  Household income at the time of application may not exceed 80 percent of the median family income in Winneshiek County. Those receiving the $600 per week additional unemployment payment are not eligible to receive assistance through the EFP program.

For more information on how to apply, contact the Decorah Family Services/Food Pantry office at (563) 387-4958 or e-mail trovang@neicac.org.  You can also contact NEICAC Housing by e-mailing housing@neicac.org or calling 563-387-4959, or visit the Iowa Finance Authority website at https://www.iowafinance.com/covid-application/.
