A crowd of around 200 people lined Water Street on Sunday afternoon, in support of other peaceful demonstrations around the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

The crowd heard speeches at the lower Co-op parking lot and at the Winneshiek County Courthouse.  In between, it lined Water Street with posters, in silent tribute to Floyd.

Rally co-organizer Caroline Corbin said the event was "a heart-felt response to the death of Floyd and countless others."  Fellow rally co-organizer Clara Muggle-Toyloy said the rally was "part of a larger effort to bring racial equity to the forefront of the conversation in Decorah."
