An SUV driven by a Decorah woman Friday evening on Montgomery Street crashed into the rear of a vehicle which had stopped on the street to let some pedestrians cross.
62-year-old Rhonda Seibert of Decorah told police she didn't notice that 33-year-old Derik Hartz of Decorah had stopped in the roadway for pedestrians. Seibert could not stop quickly enough and struck the rear of Hartz's vehicle.
A passenger in Hartz's vehicle--29-year-old Stephanie Hartz--reported a possible knee injury from the accident. An ambulance responded and provided medical care to two people in Hartz's vehicle.
The crash caused $4,000 in damages to Hartz's truck and $10,000 in damages to Seibert's SUV. Seibert was not ticketed.
