Tyson Foods' pork processing plant at Storm Lake in Buena Vista County began COVID-19 testing. In the county, more than 400 positive cases were reported this week.
Tyson Foods spokeswoman Liz Croston says, "We will disclose verified test results, once complete data is available, with health and government officials, team members and other stakeholders."
Tyson Foods has had to shut down other locations in Columbus Junction, Waterloo and Perry, and Dakota City, Nebraska. Those plants have reopened with new protective measures including mandatory face coverings; workspace dividers on production lines; increased space in cafeterias and other common areas; infrared, walk-through temperature scanners and employee wellness checks and screening.
