Gundersen Health System is announcing updated guidelines for visitors at all Gundersen locations, including Gundersen Decorah Clinic.
"Adult patients are now allowed one visitor over the age of 18 per 24 hour period. Nursery, Pediatric and Pediatric/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit patients may have one support person, not to exceed two different people in 24 hours. Exceptions are available for end-of-life care, interpreter/communication needs and Labor and Delivery."
However, some visitor guidelines remain unchanged:
--No visitors are allowed who have had a diagnosis of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
--Patients being treated for COVID-19 are not allowed visitors.
--Primary support people, visitors, and healthcare decision makers who are currently experiencing or have experienced COVID-19 symptoms within the last 14 days are not permitted. Symptoms include a temperature of 100.0 F, new cough, shortness of breath, or unexplained body aches.
Other continuing guidelines include wearing a face covering in the building; temperature taking and questions about symptoms before entering the building; and staying six feet apart. Entrances to Gundersen locations remain limited to ensure appropriate patient and visitor screening.
