Iowa will open up on Friday.
Businesses, restaurants, beauty salons, gyms and other types of businesses which had been closed in some Iowa counties on Wednesday were notified by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds that they will be allowed to reopen on Friday.
"Iowans are eager to get back to the way they were," Reynolds told a morning news conference, but adding that "but COVID-19 is here to stay for awhile...with everyone working together, we can and must reopen our economy."
Reynolds said bars and casinos are not included in her resolution and must remain closed. She also said the state will continue to work with long term care facilities to work to prevent COVID-19 cases.
Statewide, there are now 13,289 confirmed cases of COVID-19. However, COVID-19 cases in Winneshiek County have held steady at 18 for about one week.
