The Decorah and Winneshiek Co. Mutual Aid Network is finding ways to help people during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Decorah and Winneshiek Co. Mutual Aid Network has a new coordinator.  Angela Leuenberger has taken over the task of matching volunteers with people who need help in the area.  Currently, 130 people have registered as volunteers with the program, while 36 people have had services provided.  Leuenberger says her program has helped people with transportation or has taken them to the grocery store.

Leuenberger told members of the Decorah Rotary Club Tuesday that the program is looking for new ways to reach people, including a program getting started to send cards and letters to people who need cheering up.  It has also become a clearing house for COVID-19 questions, including, "Where can I get a face mask?"
