Another local health official is worried about signs people have stopped wearing face masks

Earlier this week, Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink said she was concerned that fewer people were wearing protective masks while out in public in the Decorah area. Now her comments are being echoed by another local health official.

Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Administrative Officer Lisa Radtke says she also noticed a shift over the weekend of fewer people wearing masks.  She says people should continue taking the advice of health officials, even though more businesses and locations have reopened—under strict guidelines.

Radtke says it's not only important to wear masks, but she wants to remind the community to keep practicing social distancing and to make sure you cover your mouth when coughing.

Winneshiek County so far has recorded 18 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
