Family practice doctor is joining the Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic

Decorah native Dr. Eric Svestka is joining the staff at the Decorah Clinic.

Dr. Svestka will provide family medicine care to patients of all ages.  He will begin his practice at Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic in mid-May.

Dr. Svestka has relocated from Gainesville, Florida, where he was an owner-physician in a multi-specialty private practice and provided acute care, managed chronic medical issues - including hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, kidney disease, thyroid disorder and heart disease - as well as routine wellness exams and annual Medicare visits.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin--La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his family medicine residency at Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg, Florida.
