Eastern Iowa Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer announces that Luther College will receive a federal grant for some AmeriCorps workers

Luther College has received some federal funding for two AmeriCorps workers.

Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer has announced a $52,000 "College Possible Iowa AmeriCorps" grant which Luther will split with Coe College.  The federal money will pay for four AmeriCorps workers for both Coe and Luther.  They will work to prepare low-income students for success.  The AmeriCorps members will be responsible for helping the students to stay in college, a one-year measure of success towards college graduation.
