Decorah City Engineer Jeremy Bril has heard comments from the public about the progress being made with street sweeping. Bril says he's talked with street department employees and they agree that this has been a normal year.
Bril says his department has faced challenges from a reduced staff from COVID-19 and late snow on April 13th. But he says the biggest challenge has come from dry weather. "We need a few good heavy rains to push the sand over to the gutter," he wrote to city council members this week. "We have received a few phone calls, but everyone has been very understanding, given the current (dry) conditions," he says.
