Hy-Vee gets an extension of its deadline to open a new store in Decorah

The new Hy-Vee store in Decorah will open later than the company had hoped.

The Decorah City Council has approved a change to the city's development contract with DECO Bluffs Development, which is turning the former Quillin's store into a new Hy-Vee store.

The revised development project extends the completion deadline from July 1st to October 31st.

Developers told city officials the change is necessary due to unforeseen delays.

The deadline extension does not change the other terms of the development agreement.
