40 Decorah area residents are getting $50 Fareway gift cards through the Decorah Area Chamber

40 Decorah community members have learned they're getting a $50 Fareway gift card, courtesy of Fareway and the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce received the gift cards as the result of a grant application with the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives and Fareway Stores, Inc.

The 40 recipients are all employees of Decorah employers, who nominated them for the gift. DACC Executive Director Kristina Wiltgen says the recipients were praised by their employers for their dedication, positive approach, and determination.

"It has been a privilege to be a part of this project," says Wiltgen, adding, "Both employers and employees have responded with gratitude, and even tears of joy and relief. Thank you to Fareway and their team for supporting the communities they live and work in."
