100 Plus Men Who Care Driftless Chapter is urging donations to the Mutual Aid Network

Posted: Thu, Apr 23, 2020 10:08 AM

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the cancellation of this quarter's meeting of the 100 Plus Mean Who Care.

The group is encouraging members to donate to the Mutual Aid Network, which helps people in Winneshiek County with tasks such as picking up and delivering groceries and prescriptions during the current pandemic.

Gifts will be used to assist Winneshiek County residents adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The MAN fund is specifically designed to supplement the Northeast Iowa Community Action crisis fund, which is state and federal funding for those who don't qualify for any other assistance. These folks often include immigrants or persons without social security numbers. As well, the crisis fund issues a maximum of $500 per application so if someone's need exceeds that, the MAN fund could supplement.

Checks should be mailed/payable to First Lutheran Church (604 W Broadway St, Decorah, IA 52101) and memo'd to the Mutual Aid Network - 100+ Gift. Alternatively, gifts can be made online at https://bit.ly/firstluthmutualaid.
