John e-mails: "Where is the highest point in our county? I'd guess it's somewhere on Middle Sattre Road."

The Answer Person says: "How refreshing to get a question not connected to you-know-what! Of course, it was a question that stumped The Answer Person at first--until we ran across a website that knew the answer: https://www.peakbagger.com/

According to this website, which lists the highest point in every county in Iowa and the United States, the highest point in Winneshiek County is 1,360 feet above sea level. It's in Hesper Township, off Prairie Spring Road. More to the point--and a location which will cause readers to say "aha!"--it is right at the Iowa/Minnesota border, where the Iowa property is on the top of the hill and the Minnesota property is below.

Thanks for the question, John, and thanks for the break!"
