The Decorah City Council has approved a bid by Wicks Construction of Decorah to improve the entrance to the Decorah Airport.
The project will improve entering and leaving the airport and will expand the existing airport parking lot. Wicks Construction submitted a low bid of $339,872 for the project. When engineering costs and other costs are included, the project will have a price tag of $409,560.
Normally 90 percent of the costs of airport projects are paid by Federal Aviation Administration grants, but because of additional COVID-19 funding to local governments at this time, none of the cost of the airport entrance improvements will be paid by the City of Decorah.
