Paul Scott comment: These organizations have done a great job of keeping all of us informed about responding to the coronavirus outbreak

(Comment by decorahnews.com's Paul Scott):

"I have said it many times over the last few weeks and will continue to say it--the toughest part about covering the coronavirus outbreak is that what you say at 9:00 in the morning might no longer be true at 3:00 in the afternoon.

That's especially true of information about government assistance programs, which tend to get announced in a new conference waaay before all of the operational issues have been worked out.  So people will call the appropriate governmental agency or a local business or organization whose members want to apply for the assistance--only to get conflicting advice.

That's where Decorah has been extremely fortunate to have the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce and Winneshiek County Development and Tourism be doing such a great job of keeping up on all the information about governmental programs.

Visit either organization's website (DACC's coronavirus website is https://www.decorahareachamber.com/covid-19.html, while WCDT's coronavirus website is: https://winneshiekdevelopment.org/covid19-business-resources-and-updates/) and you'll see what I mean.

The benefits to having two organizations doing such a good job of getting information out just don't help employers--they also help the employees and the community as a whole.

So "good job" WCDT and DACC and "keep up the good work."
