Fareway Foods is giving $2,000 in gift cards to the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce to give away to employees of local businesses

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce has received $2,000 in Fareway gift cards, which will be distributed to employees of local businesses.

Fareway Stores, Inc. donated $200,000 to the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives, which turned around and distributed $2,000 worth of the Fareway gift cards to the Decorah Chamber and the remaining $198,000 to other chambers of commerce in communities served by Fareway.

Local businesses are now being asked to nominate an employee who would benefit from a Fareway gift card. Employees must be nominated by noon this Friday, April 24th.

Said DACC Executive Director Kristina Wiltgen, "We know many employees and their families are facing hardships due to changes in employment. We want to get the gift cards to them as soon as possible."
