The Clayton County Public Information Office says an elderly county resident has died from COVID-19. "We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to this individual's family," said Clayton County Visiting Nurse Director Stacey Killian.
Clayton County officials are reminding residents to stay home as much as possible, leaving only for essential errands like groceries or getting medication; to stay home when even mildly ill; to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow/upper arm; and to wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says 94 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Clayton County, with seven confirmed cases.
