A big shipment of personal protective equipment arrives in Winneshiek County—equipment meant for somewhere else

Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says supplies of personal protective equipment—or "PPEs"—continue to be the biggest struggle locally. Put simply, there's a lot of demand for the equipment, but supplies remain short.

That's why Winneshiek County Emergency Management Coordinator Sean Snyder was so happy to receive a large shipment of PPEs over the weekend. He was happy, that is, until he learned that the shipment had been intended for Winnebago County—not Winneshiek County.

Not only did the mistake mean Snyder couldn't keep the PPEs and distribute them locally, but he had to make the arrangements to ship the PPEs to Forest City.
