Local project started to encourage people to "Stay Decorah Strong"

Posted: Sun, Apr 12, 2020 12:22 PM

Northeast Iowa RC&D is administering a donor-sponsored fund drive to help small businesses in Decorah "stay Decorah strong" during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The fund will provide grants of up to $500 to qualifying businesses, based on need as funding allows.

The Country Garden and LetterWerks are operating sales of "Decorah Strong" t-shirts, with profits going towards the Decorah Small Business COVID-19 Fund.

It is anticipated that need will outpace the fund, but the goal is to help as many businesses as possible. The link to apply for a grant is:

Everyone ordering a t-shirt will also receive a coupon for a carnation from Country Garden in Decorah.  Once orders are ready, an email will be sent with instructions for curbside pick-up, however, organizers are encouraging the shipping option.
