As might be expected, the coronavirus outbreak has led to more people using the Decorah Community Food Pantry. Food Pantry spokesperson Carol Hemesath says 504 clients visited the pantry in March—50 more than in February. The pantry gave away 17,929 pounds of food in March.
Hemesath says weekly shipments of food from the NE Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo have continued, and the food pantry is getting the supplies it needs. "People are getting fed," she says.
