Two Fort Atkinson residents were involved in a traffic accident Wednesday

The Winneshiek county Sheriff's Office says 30-year-old Matthias Houdek of Fort Atkinson was slowly backing his car out of his driveway on 180th Street west of Spillville on Wednesday morning around 7:45.

48-year-old Dawn Lukes, also of Fort Atkinson, was traveling east on 180th Street, crested a hill as she approached the driveway and hit the rear right of the vehicle, sending Houdek's car into the south ditch and her car into the north ditch.

Houdek was transported by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center.  He was ticketed for failure to provide proof of insurance.  The accident did a total of $3,600 in damages.
