(decorahnews.com has received several texts, e-mails and phone calls asking about the American flags which are flying on lampposts in Decorah)

The flags were put up on Friday to commemorate Vietnam Veteran's Day, which occurred on Sunday, March 29th.  Decorah City Manager Chad Bird says the flags are being left up "to show support and solidarity for all those impacted by the pandemic."

The flags are currently up on Water Street, but they will be put up on Short Street and College Drive too. The idea of keeping the flags flying was suggested by T-Bock's owners Mike and Dom Bockman and the city agreed with the suggestion.
