For the past two years, former Seed Savers Exchange Executive Director John Torgrimson has served as interim director at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center near Lanesboro. Now the Eagle Bluff board has hired a new permanent Executive Director.
Colleen Foehrenbacher, who has worked at Eagle Bluff for the past 10 years as a Naturalist, Adventure Coordinator, and Education Director, will begin her new position on Wednesday. She becomes just the third person to serve as Executive Director, with Torgrimson and Eagle Bluff founder Joe Deden, who started the organization in 1979, as the other two.
"I am eager to continue working with our staff to provide top notch outdoor learning experiences for our guests," Foehrenbacher said. "Now, more than ever, it's important to spend time outdoors for our physical and mental health and Eagle Bluff is the perfect place to do just that."
Foehrenbacher will manage a team of more than 30 staff, and will work with a 16-member board of directors.
