Pay raises for county elected officials are now official

The Winneshiek County Board has unanimously approved salary recommendations made by the county's Compensation Board.

The proposal from the Compensation Board called for a six percent pay raise for Sheriff Dan Marx; five percent pay raise for County Auditor Ben Steines; and three percent pay raise for all other county officials, including supervisors.

The following salaries will go into effect July 1st:

--County Sheriff: $92,981

--County Auditor: $69,657

--County Attorney: $81,235

--County Treasurer: $68,859

--County Recorder: $67,420

--County Supervisors: $37,680
