April 10th Red Cross blood drive will be held as scheduled

Representatives from the American Red Cross have confirmed that the blood drive scheduled for April 10th at St. Benedict Church in Decorah will be held as scheduled.

The blood drive will run from noon until 6:00 p.m. in the church's parish hall.

A Red Cross representative says steps will be taken to ensure the health and safety of blood donors.  While the blood drive is a mass gathering, it will be conducted under a controlled environment. Blood centers across the US, including the American Red Cross, are suffering from a severe blood shortage due to an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
