The first person in Winneshiek County to have a confirmed case of COVID-19 has ended self-isolation after 14 days.
Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says the individual met all the signs of no longer having the coronavirus:
--no fever for at least 72 hours without the use of medicine that reduces fevers
AND
--other symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath have improved
AND
--at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
Because all three standards had been met, the patient has been released from isolation.
