Decorah FFA's Gerleman and Hemesath elected as District FFA Officers

Decorah FFA members Grace Gerleman and Dalton Hemesath have been elected officers for the Northeast District FFA.

Gerleman will serve as the 2020-2021 Northeast FFA Reporter, and Hemesath will serve as the 2020-2021 Northeast FFA Secretary.  Decorah FFA's Karter Einck was on the ballot for Northeast FFA Vice President but was not selected.

Einck, Gerleman, and Hemesath went through multiple rounds of interviews. Each candidate initially completed an FFA knowledge exam, an individual interview, and a group interview in front of a nominating committee. Two people were selected for each of the six district FFA offices, then FFA members voted on which of the candidates should be selected.

During the online District FFA Convention Gerleman, Hemesath and Einck each gave a two-minute FFA motivational speech and provided answers to two questions to the district FFA delegates prior to the vote.
