The deadline has just passed for candidates wanting to run for Winneshiek County offices this fall without the affiliation of one of the political parties.

Filing nomination papers for a nonpartisan run for County Supervisor in District 5 is Scott Harlan Fjelstul of Ridgeway.  Filing nomination papers for a nonpartisan run for County Supervisors in District 4 is Alvin Herold.  Incumbent County Treasurer Brenda Kreitzer will run as an independent in her first election for the treasurer's position.

The candidate filing deadline to run for Winneshiek County office under the affiliation of the Democratic Party, Republican Party or any other political party is this Wednesday, March 25th.  The winners of the Primary Election to be held June 2nd will then join the candidates with no party affiliation on the General Election ballot in November for the County Auditor, Sheriff, Supervisor, and Treasurer positions.
